Apart from animals and nature I have a huge interest in ballet. I love creating pieces that are inspired by my favourite ballet company, Birmingham Royal Ballet. I love their sets and costumes, especially those of the ugly stepsisters in their Cinderella production.
Two of my ballet pieces have also been recognised by the Bradford Textile Society, winning for children's print design (3rd) and hand embroidery (2nd).
I've also created my own ballerina character / designs called, Mabelina the ballerina.
50cm / 50cm hand embroidered cushion which includes 5 of my Mabaelina the ballerina characters. Each outfit is hand created by me with a range of textured, hand embroidered stitches.
Stitches include: satin, split, brick, French knot, weave, chain, lazy daisy etc.
